Hair Tattoo
A hair tattoo is a perfect solution if you are looking for a way to disguise your hair loss symptoms. Mostly referred to as scalp micropigmentation or SMP, a tattoo consists of pigment implanted into the scalp to mimic the look of natural hair follicles, giving you the look of a full head of hair that has been cropped.
Although referred to as a hair tattoo, scalp micropigmentation is not the same as traditional tattooing. Traditional tattooing goes deep into the dermal layer of the skin, where metal-based ink is deposited. Although traditional tattooing is more permanent than a hair tattoo, the ink will eventually fade to a different color (bluey/green).
A hair tattoo uses carbon-based natural pigment; although this will eventually fade, the pigment will not change color giving you a natural look throughout. The color will just gradually disappear. A hair tattoo is not implanted as far into the skin as traditional tattooing. Instead, it is deposited just below the epidermal layer of the skin, also helping with the natural, realistic appearance the hair tattoo leaves.
A hair tattoo is a great alternative to wigs, hair pieces, hair transplants, or other hair loss solutions. As there is no cure for hair loss, a hair tattoo is recognized as the world’s leading hair loss solution. Microdots of pigment are deposited into the skin to replicate the look of natural hair follicles that have been cropped. This is done across the whole scalp. A hair tattoo is the solution if you have complete scalp hair loss, diffuse thinning, or scalp scarring.
